We had high water for the first 3 weeks of May. Some fish came in then, but the sea-liced larger May fish & the first of the grilse seem to be just starting to run in better numbers now.
The river had dropped back, but rain last night should give us another well-timed rise in the water. There are reports of a good run of fish going through the lower river yesterday.
With very few rods fishing we caught 8 fish to 11lb. in the last 5 days to May 25th. for just 39 rod days. Yesterday, one rod caught two very fresh fish including the Best of Season so far.
The prospects are looking excellent for the coming weeks.
There is no problem for fishing availability in the coming weeks.
Now is also the time to think about booking your fishing break for the prime times in the coming season before it's too late.
