FISHING REPORTS - June 7, 2016
LAKES
Rainbow Alley is fishing decent. There are lots of fish but catching them has been hard as they are feeding on many different bugs right now. Most action is on the dry fly right now.
SALTWATER
Douglas Channel-- Spring Ocean fishing has been good. More and more Chinook are coming in; some beauties being caught if you check out pictures on Ron Wakita's fishing report. Crabbing has been excellent and bottom fishing has been super, too. A few Coho being caught as well.
Rupert- Lots of people headed out for Chinook. Chinook has been a bit slow but bottom fishing has been good. Crabbing has been good too but lots of traps are going missing...
BABINE RIVER

Rain bumped up the levels but now they are dropping and levels below Hirsch Creek are at 1.30m. More water always brings in more fish and some beauty Chinooks have been caught. SKEENA
Main-stem Skeena is open and the water is excellent for clarity! People are definitely catching Chinook, but as it is early, it is a bit slow. Chinook being caught both bar fishing and back-trolling.
FISHING REPORTS - June 1, 2016
LAKES
Rainbow Alley is fishing decent, mostly fry patterns, but some are being caught on dry flies as well. Water is very low for this time of year.
SALTWATER
Douglas Channel-- Early Chinook fishing has been okay. Most people are getting into a few, usually between 10-25lbs. Crabbing has been great .The outer waters of the Douglas Channel are producing lots of smaller (feeder) Chinooks with the numbers of the larger Chinook (spawners) starting to climb. The Halibut and Bottomfishing is good and the Crabbing is excellent.The Kitimat Harbour Chinook fishery is still spotty but will be receiving larger tides in the upcoming weeks which usually produces higher catch rates
BABINE RIVER

River was in excellent shape; water has come up just over 20cm today, but we all know it cleans up quickly! Still a little early for Chinook, but they are being caught! Mainstem Skeena opens today! River is in amazing shape, it's not to often we get to fish for the early Chinook. Quite a few different reports of people catching Chinook, almost all are bar fishing, but it is still early in the season. Water level has come down to about 4.9m. Get out there and get your rod wet!
